Monitoring the top end of the 10M band and above this afternoon I received a CW ID on 30.76MHz with the callsign MQPU857. The format is similar to US licences but there's no hit on the FCC database or even Google but I don't know who would use the M prefix? All my prop at the time was to the US and Canada so I'm assuming it's in that sort of direction but as it's the first transatlantic reception above 30MHz this cycle I'd like to try and ID it.

In all my years of scanning I've never heard any UK system ID let alone with CW. The frequency offset isn't correct either, Europe uses 12.5kHz steps so if was over here it would be on 31.7625MHz

Thanks! It must be missing from the ID as listening again to the recording it pops up as recorded, probably too quick to ID after the PTT is keyed. Nice to have this confirmed as my first US utility of cycle 25.
