After the initial battery charge out of the box I ran the battery down to the low warning.
The following is the results using an iPad 12W charger and USB metering device. Picture of measuring device is after Green Light. During the charge the voltage was 4.95 and current .68-.70 amps. Timer stops when current gets very low or goes to zero.
this look like a PD HT this is way to big for a hand held i thing some body at uniden forgot that
this is a hand held radio some one tell me how i put this in a pocket i am glad i waited to see what the other guys

It would appear that the SDS100 has gone from being a handheld scanner to a "handsheld" scanner. Maybe Uniden can offer finger extenders for those of us who are digitally-challenged.
i thing Uniden is trying to fix a problem with a all in one radio and now it has moved away from being a real
handheld to something like a PD radio Uniden needs to think about a radio like the G5 and it could be made small like everyone in the radio world and that would fix the 800 problem
bob550 - not too Different from the Nextel radios I used to sell, though one model the Communicator was a compact Flip up design. but battery was Plump. but the Nextel radios were built Tough as nails.

The enlarged battery and accompanying cover was always how cell phone handset manufacturers offered a high-capacity battery option. The SDS100 extended battery size is no real surprise.
For over 30 years I carried a variety of items at various times on my belt (handcuffs, gun, Taser, rubber gloves, baton and, yes, even a walkie-talkie but for some reason I could never get comfortable carrying a scanner on my hip. I've used the belt clip to attach a scanner to other things but not to me.
