What was the previous version of the database, an even 4, or something else?

Was the update easy to do?

Firmware, software

For those of you that have a Pro-107 version 5 of the RR Database library in now available! You can download it via the Updates->Check for Library Update tab in the included Pro-107 software. It was updated Nov 30 2009.

There is also a firmware and a software upgrade released 11/30 for the Pro-107.
Might as well grab all three while you are at it.

The firmware upgrade had the changelog listed below. I wonder if there's any sort of changelog for the PC software? BTW all upgrades have been performed successfully. It all went flawlessly.

RadioShack PRO-107 "iSCAN"
Handheld Trunking Scanner

I am running Operating System Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium with service pack 2 and when I attempt to download the library update I get an error message "access violation at address 004ac7ef in module iscan.exe. Read of address 00000028." When I go to the library update tab it does show that version 5 is the current library. The program freezes at that point.
Also, when trying to update the iscan software I get an error message "error opening local updater file." I have turned off my firewall and virus protection but still get the same error message. Could this be due to the Operating system I am running or maybe a corrupted file? I did not make any changes to the standard format when installing the iscan software.
Can anyone help with suggestions?

Are you logged into Windows with an account that has Administrator privileges?

See if there's a new ZIP file in My Documents\iSCAN. If there is, and if it contains iSCAN.EXE, extract its contents to:
32-bit OS: \Program Files\iSCAN
64-bit OS: \Program Files (x86)\iSCAN
(In either case, the directory should already exist)
Make sure the program isn't running first.

In the "my documents" folder there is a new zip file in the iscan folder but the compressed folder is labeled db005 (12,743kb). Inside the folder are files numbered 001 to 013 ---RRDD-005 and one file labeled RRDB-Ver.bin but there is no file labeled iscan.exe in the compressed folder. I looked in folder CDAT and DB but no iscan.exe there either. I decompressed the db005 folder but still no iscan.exe. Is the iscan.exe program the "pre-loader" mentioned on one of the download screens?
I do have an existing \programfile\iscan but there is no iscan.exe there either.
Not sure what you mean about "logged into windows with an account that has administrator privileges". Can you elaborate about that requirement and how I could find out if I am logged on as such? Thanks for your time and patience.

See if you can log in under the "Administrator" account if you aren't sure your account has the necessary privs. Failing that, maybe someone here that knows more about Vista can help.

So, I take it you have to re-import the database for the changes to take effect in the objects in the playlists?

Now that it has been confirmed that the firmware, software, and database can be updated in a timely manner, any chance of a firmware update to allow the user to save or change the CTCSS/DCS code without software? That would be a real pain to remove the SD card every time.
