Does anyone know what talkgoup ISP aviation uses with units in the ground? Tonight they departed the Greenwood area and went straight to an area south of Garrett in Dekalb County and is circling. I’m not hearing any related traffic on Dekalb talkgroups or District 22.

I hear them communicating on district ISP TGs, and regional mutual aid TGs. Occasionally I've seen the Air Sector TG but I haven't heard any operations or scene traffic on that.

As an aside, the ISP aviation unit is now based at the Greenwood Airport. They have apparently moved out of their facility at Indianapolis International.

Currently there is a dive detail in Steuben county for a subject missing off of a boat since 2am. I've heard ISP, DNR, and several local FD Dive Teams get called out. ISP D22 Disp just advised one of their units the Aviation unit was going to call them. Keep your eyes/ears open. They may be flying back up north again here shortly.

I've heard them on Air Sector only a very few times. They're usually working in support of people on the ground so they're usually on those TG's when they're in my area. Often they'll all congregate on one of the GMA's here because there's usually more than one agency involved.

Thanks for the info everyone. I ended up finding them on C-MA2 last night and found out it was for a vehicle turned foot pursuit.

And remember, its almost harvest season for the stanky janky weed. Your gonna start hearing ISP air ops, and locals that have helos up more often. And yeah, you may see them black helos with that lovely USDHS marking....

FWIW Copter 2 N54SP was on Air Section 10780 briefly with a N271SP looking to try and catch a laser bandit SW of KIND last night. Coordinating with approach to stay out of the way of 5L/R arrivals.
