ISP Training

There were two Cadet Classes that were in progress when the Covid-19 lock down occurred. ISP pulled the cadets out of the Academy and assigned them to the Districts. Some training like riot/crowd control will be conducted later but some of their training is being done in the districts. Some training is being done online where everyone is on a network like Skype.
The State Police Academy is about like being bottled up on a cruise ship but much worse. One class had quite a bit of their training completed and the other class had just started. The second class (Fast Track) was of prior police officers which is in much shorter duration than the typical 26-27 week academy.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there are several districts sending their Cadets to one location for more specialized training like traffic stops or other scenarios. The ISP is short on staff and wanted to get these new Cadets trained without loosing their time invested. One of the many concessions that has been mandated by the ongoing pandemic.
