I am curious what frequencies NASA uses to communicate with the ISS? Do they use encryption?

I think they still use the TDRS satellites with a downlink on S-Band around 2 Ghz I beleive. There were also a couple of frequencies in the Milair band around 260 Mhz they used to talk to the shuttle. This also lists ham frequencies and frequencies used by the Russians

I have also heard them talking about ku band during shuttle ops.
