Console Subsystem Interface (CSSI) for for P25 systems may be in use by the following counties on the Somerset P25 TRS. I believe these are connected via console gateways.

Somerset, Hunterdon, Morris, Union all logged on Somerset TRS TG 109. Fast clear and efficient.Missing are Somerville, Perryville and Totowa State substations.

With the significant amount of LEO Fire and EMS runs generated by Interstates 78/287/80/24 I am curious why they would not join. Thoughts?

CSSI clearly provides a solid supplement to SPEN1.

Maybe ease of networking links?
Somerset, Hunterdon, Morris, and Union all share some common microwave sites with NJSP...I think.
Somerville station tower microwave is NJ Transit and PSEG.
Perryville station has no microwave.
Totowa has microwave, but I've never been there.
NJSP has been upgrading to IP based microwave and MPLS but I'm not sure if that is completed...or related.
Just my thoughts or guesses :)

I was told part of the reason for the Somerset County 109 TG is because Somerset, Hunterdon, and Morris are all failover/overflow 911 centers for each other (don't know the validity behind that).

I would think if there was an interconnect between NJSP and the counties they'd probably use an NJICS statecom talkgroup, but that isn't happening either. I guess NJSP has never seen a need to use a radio over the phone to talk to other dispatchers?

That'd make a lot of sense, especially with the abundance of cellular phones. All it takes is being somewhere near a bordering county line and the standard E911 routing methodology goes out the window. Hell, your call could end up with NJSP despite there being the capacity to handle it locally! Although being physically located in Berkley Heights, the Samsung factory there has a tendency to have test 9-1-1 calls that they conduct in the QC process route over to SCC. This has resulted in some back and forth between Union and Somerset over the Hotline via 109. The same goes for Branchburg and Readington being in such close proximity met with everyone and their mother calling in crashes and road hazards, among other incidents. As rr60 said, a fast, clear, and efficient way to bridge these county facilities together for 9-1-1 calls and other inquiries that would traditionally tie up their respective non-emergency lines.

Is that the same reason Warren was added on, in the event calls pertaining to Hunterdon or Morris end up with them?

Is Warren County on there? I remember reading something about that but I don’t think I’ve ever heard them.

Yes, 16080 is their RID. Very very rare occasions. It's more of the counties calling Warren than it is Warren calling them. Takes a couple of tries to raise them.

I believe this is the thread:

The Interconnect of the different county systems mentioned with dedicated talkgroups on each is very efficient and was purposely steered away from ISSI use, A) because not all counties had ISSI at the time, and B) it does not depend on using telco or other transport infrastructure to link them (think Super Storm Sandy)

Like a mini version of SPEN without the BS.

It sounds fabulous in all aspects. Very cool.
It seems as if when SHTF w fast moving felony pursuits, to much ground lost w communication delays via old school Comm’s.

Not the way this is set up. Covers hundreds of square miles in seconds.

Kudo’s all.

You have the UIDs for those County's on TG109 ?

I just popped Somerset into Unitrunker for giggles and I'm only seeing that TG on the UHF cell FYSA. PS INTEROP is on both cells for INTRAcounty though.

16075: Union County
16078: Morris County
16080: Warren County
48802: Hunterdon County

IC Hotline, despite being used for LE incidents, does not qualify as a LE talkgroup. On paper, it is simply a County Service's TG; thus, it will not cross onto Site 4. PUB SFTY, on the other hand, is a primary LE talkgroup since it involves police departments, on top of being the only native inter-disciplinary TG on the Somerset County TRS accessible by non-LE subscribers. Ergo, this talkgroup applies to both sites.

As well as 16079. However, I have no clue what counties those two are assigned to. I just identified the ones I have seen and have been able to confirm their origin.

It seems like anymore these various hotlines are being used more and more for “Can you find me a squad”. 😂 @FT752

But of course! A hot commodity that is hard to come by these days. As per my status, that is a question I hear asked too frequently, save the hotline. However, here are just a few from 109: "Morris, can I get a Long Hill BLS into Berkley Heights?", "Hunterdon, can we get Whitehouse Rescue Squad into Branchburg?", "Somerset, can we get Peapack-Gladstone BLS for Chester?".

Public Safety is lovely. Bound Brook and Bernardsville with their mutual aid BLS requests...

Yeah, EMS, especially daytime EMS, is dying (no pun intended). Days of volly unit getting out during the day are rare, and some towns haven't taken the hint to get daytime paid EMTs to staff volly rigs or contract with Atlantic or other services for coverage. Luckily County's like Union, Morris etc. started running rigs through their OEMs to pick up the slack.

Well... there's more than meets the eye. The three top healthcare systems are not much better. Out of the three, Atlantic has a better track record; but their shortcomings also result in their calls for service falling back onto the vollies scrambling in their off-hours to fill the void. Morris County OEM is a positive project to pick up the slack and provide coverage arrangements as needed- but Union got stuck holding theirs up when it was meant to be a trial/temporary arrangement at their time of inception. Not too lucky of a break.

Forgive me in advance, I have been monitoring Somerset County UHF System attempting to hear any traffic on the Inter-County Hotline. I can pick up other traffic just not the Hotline transmissions. Does anyone have any ideas?
Also, can anybody shed some light on the way the hotline works? Does each county have a radio assigned to them? I think it’s a great idea whoever coordinated the hotline especially with all the car and catalytic converter thefts thefts.

The TG is not that active. The last activity was yesterday between 10pm and 10:30.

Motor vehicle, originated Chester terminated Bedminster.

Zero activity since then. Try Friday’s, Saturday’s 21:00-09:00. Sunday’s also.
