What four files?

You can use Notepad or any real text editor to create empty versions of:

DSDPlus.Networks
DSDPlus.Sites
DSDPLus.Frequencies
DSDPLus.P25Data

When you save a file in notepad, it normally saves with a .txt extension. So trying to create DSDPlus.SITES may result in DSDPlus.SITES.txt. Use Save As and below the file name, change the "Save As" to "All Files .*." and that should allow you to save with a different extension.

Run Notepad.

Click on Save As.

Type in "DSDPlus.Networks" (with the quotes)

Press Enter.

Done.

Repeat for other missing files.

Congratulations, you now have empty data files that are missing the instructions on how data in them is supposed to be formatted.

Aren't the networks, sites and frequencies files part of the 1.101 distribution? How do users manage to not have these files?

Hi, I have the following problem - which I followed step by step all the advice present - when starting DSDPlus I have the following messages:

DSD + Error DSDPlus.sites file not found in working folder
DSD + Error DSDPlus.P25data file not found in working folder
DSD + Error DSDPlus.siteLoader file not found in working folder
DSD + Error Required data files not found in working folder

The files are present, correctly, I don't really know what to do anymore.

Greetings Alessio

Usually, either the files are in the wrong "working folder" directory or are not named properly (wrong file extension).

Trying real hard here. Been using the pub. release and just received fastlane.
It resides in root of C: on a Windows 10 64bit PC.
Followed the instructions in the Notes file. Read this thread a few times.
Created the missing files in Notepad++. No dice. Got the error.
Appended the files with .txt......no dice again.
That's as far as I can get right now. Anyone care to assist? And please, be nice!

One week old IC-R8600 running on HDSDR. VB Cable for an audio pipe.
I can carry this on in another thread. I need to. Used an RSP2 for a few years.
What to expect (that works with the 8600/HDSDR combo).
1.0.1 gave me a little bit of DMR traffic and voice. P25.....just a string of data.

Can we start here getting past the files error?
Thanks!dsd.jpg

Files should be in your working directory C:\DSDPLus1.01, if you manually create them use notepad, save as type all files. Did you notice this post that has a zip file? -

Yup. Got those. Dot radios and groups was missing though.
Now I have the correct Event Log screen. Finicky Windows. The files were in fact appended with .txt. Command prompt wizardry got it all fixed.
Now for the dreaded TCP/IP error hurdle.
I did start a thread. Am I peeing in the wind trying to get my brand spankin' new IC-R8600 working with fastlane?
Thanks!tcpip.jpg

Those missing files are all present in a DSD+ 1.101 distribution. If you followed the instructions in the notes file, you would've added all of your your fast lane files to a folder that already had those missing files, hence they wouldn't be missing. So what did you actually do?

If you're using a tapped radio as the audio source, you need to go into the DSD+ menus and change the monitoring mode to Passive Digital Monitor and then pick your sound card as the audio input device.

Heck if I know (missing files). Just checked the 1.101 compressed file in my archives and yes the files are there. Crazy. I didn't delete them when I unzipped them and placed in my root directory.
I feel like I may be hijacking this. No harm meant.
Fastlane is so much more different than the pub. release. Went into the menu and found the settings. Got it! Decoding a DMR channel right now.
Wow! So much more data streaming in the window than 1.101. Like a whole lot.
With that hurdle done I guess the learning starts. Believe me I'll scour these posts to grab tips. I'm not out for handouts.
I see there's support in fl for the RSP2 (??...more reading). That means fashioning up another antenna to possibly get trunking to work.. Thank
Slicerwizard. Reminds me of the data slicers I built back in the day. 1 week with my IC-R8600 still burning the Japan off of it.
Thanks for the help. Seriously.

For your RSP, run FMPP-CC.bat and 1R.bat; manually tune the RSP to a control channel. If it's a DFA system (P25, some NEXEDGE, some TIII), it'll start trunk tracking. For non-DFA, you'll need to add data to DSDPlus.frequencies.
