Voice Dispatches

OCFA uses vocal dispatch as a back up to the station alarms, pagers and MDC. On many occasions, several incidents will be dispatched and after a minutes or so the dispatcher will rattle-off all of them in rapid succession on 5B or 3C. The engines are usually already enroute at that time. During the overnight hours when some of the dispatchers are on their rest breaks there maybe no vocal dispatches. If the company's status is AOR they will always be an immediate vocal dispatch.

We are losing two really good dispatchers that started when the radio was the primary dispatch medium and they were particularly good at always following up with a radio dispatch. Happy retirement Dave and Paul!

Cool, It just felt like a real long time with nothing, looking at pulsepoint it was like 10 dispatches right in the middle of the day with no verbal.

I used to pull street cards from the tub. Does that count?
