Hello fellow scanner enthusiasts,

I have a BCD396T with new firmware (3.02.02)

I monitor other Motorola Type II systems but can't seem to get anything with the Palm Springs, CA system.

Following is the most updated information from RR.

System Name: Palm Springs
Location: Palm Springs, CA
County: Riverside
System Type: Motorola Type IIi Hybrid
System Voice: Analog
Last Updated: June 22, 2011, 10:37 am (Updated General Trunked System Information)

System ID List

System ID Connect Tone
3d1b Unknown

System Fleetmap

Type B0 B1 B2 B3 B4 B5 B6 B7
Mot D D D D D D D
TT S4 S4 S4 S4 S4 S4 S4
-------

I have set the system as a Motorola Type 2 800 and I manually set the fleetmap to match the one shown above.

I've confirmed the Freqs as 857.48750 858.48750 858.96250 859.48750a 860.71250c

I've confirmed the TGs as
32784
32816
32880
32912
32944

But it's just wind and crickets on the scanner. Nothing.

Any advice is most appreciated.

There is nothing wrong with your scanner.

According to the database on August 2, 2010 at 11:30 AM the Palm Springs Police Department joined the ERICA system. Their talkgroups are encrypted and cannot be received by any scanner.

I have found that before I download a system it is a good idea to look in the database first for any news updates.

W8RMH,
I appreciate the speedy reply.

With reference to your second comment, while I appreciate the intent of it, and hopefully I'm not reading more into it than I should, I will say that I was referring to the following page which is specific to Palm Springs (Palm Springs Trunking System, Palm Springs, California - Scanner Frequencies) and no such reference was indicated. And it was updated June 2011.

I am thankful that you pointed me to the considerably broader Riverside listing.

Hoping someone can update the Palm Springs listing and save someone else the embarrassment.

Regards,
CS
