Turns out to "Officially" be just straight line winds, and a near touchdown. but the damage was still chainsaw-rific... First time I have been in a "you can't get there from here" scene. Trees down on every way in, so after going on foot to check on the homeowners (they were ok,.. just shook up and need a new roof), we went back and spent hours chopping up trees to get the roads open again. In Simpson County, it will be days before all the power and roads are completely back to normal. NWS says it was an F-1 that hit them... but the damage from Simpson thru Smith Counties looks more like a strong F-2, with massive straight line winds. Anyone need some pine to cut up?
