Please refresh my memory banks on Win96 and web import. I selected the site for my county and selected the talk groups I wanted to listen to. I'm hearing things outside of my county and talk groups that were not selected. I don't remember what I have to do to only hear the talk groups that I selected? Was there a setting or a check box that needed to be changed ?

You didn't say what scanner or software, but there is almost always a check box option for some or all TGID's Then, on the radio, there is the option of running Closed or IDScan vs Open or IDsearch. Select for former to only hear the TGID's you downloaded, or you can usually lock out TGID's you downloaded as you hear them. Sounds like you are running in the Open(RS and GRE) or IDsearch (Uniden)

He did say "Win96", which would imply PRO-96 and/or PRO-2096 and my Win96 software

He also said he "selected the talk groups I wanted to listen to". I'd infer that, during the RR web import process, he selected only those talkgroups that were interesting to him.

I think that's it. He's running his PRO-96/2096 in "open mode". In Win96, before uploading to the scanner, he needs to check the "Closed" box(es) for the bank(s) in question.
