It is with deep regret that I report the passing of Jack Daniel, KD6YVL, the principal of the Jack Daniel Co. (www.rfsolutions.com). Jack, the guy who was often mistaken for Tennessee sippin' whiskey, was a renowned expert on in-building coverage and bi-directional amplifiers. He played an integral role in public safety by participating in NFPA communications standards and encouraging agencies to consider in-building radio coverage. Jack is known for posting a number of draft in-building communications ordinances on his website, as well as being an active participant of the land mobile radio industry and users' listserv the "Private Wireless Forum" on Yahoogroups. His signature statement was, "but I could be wrong."

Jack was a regular at the APCO conferences and the IWCE, often leading the pack of PWF'ers to Piero's.

Jack's legacy is a safer operating environment for our responders by his contributions to the CPRA, APCO, and a host of industry workgroups.

We have big shoes to fill.
