Jackson County Wildland Fire

Jackson County Sheriff's Department reporting Wildland Fire in the Black River State Forest, along North Settlement Road, exact location is unknown. Location is being described as non accessable by vehicle and personel responding from surrounding areas are being requesting to bring Wildland gear, Off Road equipment and ATV's. 19:45 HR

Sorry I never updated, had to get off air shortly after the call went out and been working a couple doubles the past few days. Have you been in the area since the fire and can you see any damages if you have? I didnt sound very big when the first call went out, but with no vehicle access I was curious how big it got...

I dont know yet, I live in Waukesha CO, we deer hunt off of lambert and hunter haven rd and will be there in a few weeks! what department are you on up there?

Ok...let me know if you remember! I am actually with Whiting FD in the Stevens Point area, but I monitor the surrounding counties as much as my equipment and free time allow! Previous to that I was a FF in New Jersey where I grew up, never had the pleasure of experiencing a wildland fire back east...there aren't enough woods!

Was up there this weekend, we only travel about 1/2 mile of settelment rd, and didn't see anything, then again it was bout 8PM that we drove it. How well can you hear Jackson CO from where you are at?

Not very well but it does come in sometimes...suppose it matters on how the propagation is going that day lol...I monitor the live feeds here on RR and also a few others on the net as well.
