• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Those are radio ids that are making calls on the system. The enc is just because you are to far away and not getting a good signal. No enc is used on i-calls on the system.

The number '7' at the beginning of a /\/\otorola ID is not really part of the ID. It's an indicator that simply lets you know that what you're seeing is not a talk group ID, it's an individual radio ID.

The real radio ID is the last 5 digits.

Thanks Johnny. I was wondering I was like 6 #'s I thought the first # was radio like you said. I know I'm stupid with radios but kind of calls or talk on the I-Calls just wondering. I can't get a good singal down here.
