• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I recently bought a Jaguar 700P RU. It has a 2meg memory and the Pers Ver is 34.00. Ram size 128k. Eepr size 2K. It is Max system/groups. I was curious what type of trunking capabilities it has and what digital modes it is capable of? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

List the option codes in the features menu and I will let you know.

I dont have the radio yet. It should be here in a few days. I was told that there is a difference in the KRD and the RU model. I am new to this radio so I am not sure of it's capabilties or features

EDACS only, no P25 of any kind. Depending on the feature string (and/or radio code), it could have the capibility for Provoice and DES encryption, but thats about it.

The RU models can do P25 conventional, not trunked if it is enabled in FEC (feature 33).

If it has features 12 and 29 you will get AEGIS and ProVoice. 16 for DES encryption.

RE: Jaguar 700P

I got the radio in yesterday. The model # HA8ATX. It is a RU101219 R1A. It has features 01, 04, 07, 08, 10, 16, 21, 22, 23. Flash Version: J2R11B01. DSP: G4R06H01. Hopefully this clarifies everything. The only thing I have left to get is a antenna and programming.

I stand corrected, 14 is DES.

Your radio has the following:
Conventional Priority Scan
EDACS Group Scan
EDACS Dynamic ProScan/Regroup/Emergency
Conventional Emergency
EDACS Mobile Data
EDACS ESK
ProFile
Narrow Band

No digital is enabled on this radio, so it is Conventional/EDACS analog only. You will need to get it upgraded to get digital voice.
