Location
Nowhere near a paved road, away from the maddening
Saturday took a trip over to James River State Park. Only took a 2m portable (packing light) for a hike…

Did not hear anything on the legacy 151.235/.400 frequencies during the four hours we were there. Saw one of the law enforcement patrol pickups. It was equipped with a VHF-Lowband whip (SIRS), a dual-band vhf-hi/uhf antenna, and a 700/800 MHz quarterwave whip (700 MHz vehicular repeater?).

I wonder if this location has migrated over to STARS.

Regarding Buckingham County, copied traffic on the Sheriff’s repeater (151.31000), but comms on the Fire repeater (158.83500 MHz) were all digital hash.

Have they migrated to a digital format?

And if so, which?
