I just got thru talking to a OCPD officer, and he said the old system will go off on the 17th.

As far as taking down the old system I haven't heard anything bout that, but I know they are doing a circuit board swap on Jan 17 due to a defect.

Funny how rumors get started.

Bad information david. Dispatch6 is correct. The techs are taking down one system at a time (Wide Area or Core) to do a circuit board swap on Jan 17th. The patchs to the old system will remain up on each active system during the swap. It will occur in the early morning hours of the 17th to have a minimal effect on the users.

I asked if he was sure, anyway he was a Rook. I now know to ask the Dispatchers for conformation..LOL I am glad it's not.

never ask a rook about the radios,they barley like to talk on the let alone answer questions about it......lol
