This is RACOM's Facebook post
After a comprehensive review and evaluation of P25 land mobile radio options completed by the Jasper County Sheriffs Office, the Jasper County Board of Supervisors this morning approved a contract between the County and RACOM to deploy a 700/800 MHz P25 trunking network for use by all public safety agencies in Jasper County.
The County selected RACOM over the available alternatives because:
Digital radio coverage was specifically tailored to the needs of the local first responders

Seamless interoperability with neighbors like Marshall and Polk County, who also utilize RACOM for P25 radio communications, and interoperability to all State resources.
A business model that gives region wide coverage when required but does not cede local control over important land mobile radio decisions.
The addition of Jasper County increases the footprint of the locally owned and controlled SARA (Shared Area Radio Agreement) P25 radio network in Iowa. SARA is the largest P25 land mobile radio system in Iowa as measured by sites on the air, agencies using the network and coverage area served. Jasper County joins dozens of others agencies and > 5,000 users actively utilizing SARA including agencies in Polk, Marshall, Grundy, Black Hawk, Linn, Iowa and Johnson counties.
My thanks and congratulations to everyone involved with the project!

They call the system SARA it list Linn and Johnson counties as users. Is the Johnson\Linn county P25 system apart of this one or is it completely separate? Also is the CIRPSCS system in the database and SARA system the same thing?

Johnson/Linn counties are separate from CIRPSCS. I would wager to bet over time they will become one system. Iowa County is being piggybacked onto the Johnson/Linn county system. Poweshiek County (the county in the middle of these two systems) will probably not be joining either system anytime soon as they are in the process of upgrading from VHF analog to VHF P25 conventional.

CIRPSCS and Johnson/Linn county are in the database. Some of the agencies using CIRPSCS still have patched talkgroups on RACOM EDACS.

Just guessing but maybe State could place a site or two in Powesheik county and then used them for testing the State Patrol in District 1 & 11 for Interstate 80 patrols? Just blue skying.
