Since user @Jay911 was an active participant and valued member of these forums, please find attached press release from his fire department:

REDWOOD MEADOWS, April 16, 2023 - It is with heavy hearts that Redwood Meadows Emergency Services (RMES) announces the passing of Fire Communications Officer Jason Low, April 15, 2023, Jason served with RMES for more than 30 years, starting his service in 1991.

Despite the best efforts of his colleagues and emergency medical personnel, he was unable to be revived.

"We are devastated by the loss of our longtime colleague and friend," said RMES Chief Evans. "He was an integral member of our team and served his community with dedication and distinction for three decades. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time."

RMES would like to express our deepest appreciation to the partner agencies, EMS, Stars, and RCMP, who also responded to this incident and worked alongside our crews to provide the best possible care to the affected individual.

Funeral arrangements for FCO Low are pending and will be shared as soon as they are available.

There will be a flower drop memorial set-up at the fire station Sunday for anyone wishing to pay condolences.

Here's a bit more from Redwoods Fire:

Yesterday was a day that we all fear as first responders, a call to a brother’s house.
Fire Communications Officer Jason Low suffered a medical emergency and despite the efforts of our members, AHS from Priddis and the STARS air medical crew, he subsequently passed.
Jay joined our department on his 18th birthday and ever since served this community and others through his “paying job” at Calgary 9-1-1.
Jay used his knowledge to not only program all radios in the RMES inventory but also passed that information onto other departments such as Tsuut’ina, Nakoda, Kananaskis and others.
There are no words to describe the feelings our team are experiencing right now.
Thank you to everyone and especially our partners at Calgary 9-1-1, AHS dispatch, Priddis 1A1, STARS, and Rockyview Fire.
As a department and family, we will take some time and let you all know about arrangements to come.

It came to me as a very deep shock. Jay and I go back many years to the infancy of this website. I would forward him info for the Calgary area or new data from other parts of Alberta that I discovered . He was extremely knowledgeable and he was always eager to answer any question, he had the biggest sense of humour out of anyone I know!! He was absolutely tech savvy as well in a big way! Rip Jay911, my friend, you left a big hole that will take very large shoes to fill and you were an amazing example for how people should be in this world.
