• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Does anyone happen to know when the MTS/MT 2000 radios stopped production ? Was it in 2004 or 2005 ? Or were they being made well after that ? For some reason, I don’t remember them being made long after like 2002-2003ish

Ok cool thank you !

Only reason I was somewhat curious is I just landed a super mint MTS that has a serial of CEC, indicating it was made in February 2004. So that one must be one of the last batches produced. Newest MTS I’ve seen is around 2002ish.

Interesting. I tried looking up EOL info for the MTS and couldn’t find anything. There was a PDF on almost everything Motorola EOL’ed but it stopped around 2005. I see that the MTS2000 in 900mhz was made until 2005. The HT1000 seemed to be EOL’ed before then. Said nothing about the MT2000 or MTS UHF/VHF models. The XTS3000 was EOL’ed in 2005.
Not that it matters worth anything now, 20 years later anyways haha
It just amazes me how time flys.
Here’s the EOL list km referring to

According to Motorola's Intent to Cancel lookup, the cancellation and last order date for 16 Ch DN model HT1000s was July 31st, 2010

That PDF is a "printout" of the Motorola site. The HT1000 is listed on Page 10 of that PDF with the 2010 date.

Wow interesting ! Seems that the MTS was made up until 2010. Never seen anything newer than the one I just bought dating to 2004. The ones made in 2008-10 must be super rare.

Can't say I ever saw one later than 2007.

I still have that MINT UHF MTS2000 I got from you 1/2010 466AYU3373 when we hooked up in Atlanta.
I also bought a very rare MT2000 from him that was made in the Schaumburg plant. I have since sold that radio, but wish I kept it. Pretty sure it was close to new and never put into service. There’s a few beat up MTS’s on eBay right now that have that Schaumburg sticker on them. However, they are all beat up, super basic flashed radios that I have zero interst in.

900 MHZ outlasted just about everything else, and may have hung on until 07-08. That document is not that accurate, HT1000 did not make it anywhere near that long. Depot support ended around that date shown (2010) last time to order was around 2003.

I have a copy of ECAT from 12/10/2009 and the 900 MHz MTS2000 was still listed at that time, though the HT/JT lines and all other bands were long gone. I thought I may have still had the cancellation notice emails but I can't find them if I do.

my product support matrix from 2012 shows all the Jedi lines except the 900 MTS2000 as no longer supported, which means they were manufactured no later than 2007 but I really think 2004/2005 is about right based on my failing memory.
