Anyone have the updated frequencies/radio system info for Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office? I used to hear them on VHF high band (155.520)then 800mhz (infrequently). I heard from a deputy in December 2002 that they were switching to 400mhz UHF band in March 2003 because they were dissatisfied with 800mhz system. Thanks!

Thanks for the info but I have these frequencies and hear nothing on them. Is this some sort of trunked system? Thanks!

Yes these are trunked UHF systems. One is an LTR regular TRS, the other has not been identified as to type of TRS yet.

Did you figure it out? I have been passing through Jeff Davis Parish 5 days a week and I only hear a few transmissions on the 800 LTR system. These transmissions only amount to license plate checks every now and then. No calls dispatched on these frequencies. I also scan all the frequencies that they are licensed for in UHF and I have not heard a peep. No control channel either. Next time you are in the area, try this: If you have a pro-93, 95, or 96 use the police / fire search feature. When on this screen, you will see "Group 0123" on the third line. Press 0, 1, and 3 to turn these groups off, leaving only group 2 active. This will cause the scanner to search only the UHF frequencies that are allocated to public safety (group 2). Groups 0, 1, and 3 are VHF Lo, VHF Hi and 800 respectively. I will try the same thing tomorrow as I pass through Jeff Davis and I will let you know if I hear anything. I tried VHF the other day and I didn't hear anything.

Haven't really had a chance to check much further. I e-mailed a friend who works for JDSO for the frequencies and any other information and never got a response. I have one more possible source I'll check with.

I was told several years ago that it was to be a parish wide system with all of the small towns using it like Acadia Parish does. Lake Arthur PD was the only agency I know of that dropped 800 and switched back to a 400 simplex system (453.525 & 453.850). Jennings PD is still on their system they have had for years (453.675). JDSO used 155.520 as their F1 for many years and occasionally I still hear them on this but the transmission is not clear. Welsh, Elton are still on the old 155.010 frequency.

Don't know if the FD's were to be included in this new system but they are still on the old standard FD frequencies (Lake Arthur: 154.280, 154.340, Jennings: 154.415).

I had all the UHF freqs in as well as the 800's in my scanner. I only heard traffic on the 800 system and some fire stuff on VHF. I did hear a couple of calls being dispatched the last couple of times I passed through, but the traffic is very infrequent.

They may be about to move to 400 MHz after all. This afternoon when I passed through Jeff Davis parish, I heard dead carriers being transmitted for a about a minute at a time on all of the 430.xxx frequencies listed on this site. When they stopped dead keying, each of the frequencies had what sounded like intermittent LTR type data bursts every seven to ten seconds or so.

The transmissions were on the new UHF frequencies listed under the unknown system section of the Jeff Davis frequencies in the database. So far, I have only heard voice traffic on the existing 800 LTR system when passing through that area.

OK then if you can keep monitoring the new system and can confirm that the system doing "Key up" is LTR that would be lovely and you can submit that its LTR to the database... being that the "key ups" are sounding every 7 to 10 seconds that makes it LTR Regular,.. so an LTR capable scanner can monitor it. Sweet huh?

I was in JD Parish yesterday and heard the same "key ups" on the 400 frequencies. The 800 TRS was pretty quiet. JD Parish is a "slow parish". The largest city is Jennings and all the others are very small towns. Not much action.

Attention Jeff Davis dispatcher, STOP SCREAMING ON THE RADIO!! WE CAN HEAR YOU JUST FINE. Your microphone is very very sensitive. Tone down your voice a bit.
