NIICD can no longer assign air to air amplitude modulated frequencies. The frequency pool no longer exists. Assignments can only be made by FAA spectrum management after being ordered by the CDO.

This does not effect initial attack air to air frequencies.

Are these carried on the air fire live stream? Seemed pretty quiet when I listened.

Another air-air

Hearing 123.125 for air-air. Assuming it's North Fork fire due to my monitoring location.

Even tougher for radio techs who have to travel around a state the size of Colorado reprogramming dozens of radios every spring.

Seriously. Whats the deal with switching the Air-Ground freqs around every fire season? It just seems to add a new layer of complexity to each incident.

It is generally related to radio interference.

One example is that 172.375 a former A/G frequency was being used as the repeater output frequency for three sites on the Routt NF and interference occured.
