JEFFERSON COUNTY - Thick, heavy smoke was visible from the metro area after a structure fire raged Friday morning.
The Coal Creek Fire Department was on scene in the 116000 block of Ranch Elsie Road battling the blaze that threatened nearby trees for a time. Mutual aid from Arvada, Nederland, Colorado Sierra and High Country.
Fire crews were called to the scene at about 5:30 a.m. after neighbors reported the fire.
According to fire crews, they don't believe anyone was home when the fire started.
As of 6:45 a.m. the fire was contained to the one property and other agencies were assisting.
