The latest Mitchell FCC license grants bulletin shows numerous new licenses for UHF repeaters at Jeffco Public Schools. Most of the addresses match up to high schools, including Columbine and Chatfield.

I've confirmed usage and CTCSS/DCS info on most of these. As one would expect, the stuff you'll hear is usually pretty boring, but every once in a while there might be an incident where it might be worth a listen... Most of these frequencies have co-channel users in the metro area, so programming in the CTCSS/DCS code is essential if you only want to listen to the school.

Most of them seem to agree with the FCC licenses, but there are a couple of exceptions. These are all repeaters, so it should be possible to listen within a few miles of the school, depending on terrain.

Here's what I've found, along with some co-channel user info:

462.0875, DCS 025: Arvada West HS, FCC license appears correct.
463.5875, DCS 031: Chatfield HS, FCC license appears correct. (DCS 054 sounds like Pepsi Center ops)
463.8125, DCS 032: Columbine HS, FCC license appears correct.
464.6125, DCS 054: Golden HS, FCC license appears correct.
464.2125, DCS 065: Green Mountain HS, FCC license appears correct.
463.7375, DCS 073: Pomona HS, FCC license appears correct. (Rangeview HS in Aurora uses a 162.2 tone on this freq)
463.2125, DCS 074: Ralston Valley HS, FCC license appears correct. (Auraria Campus maint. on 100.0 PL)
461.7375, DCS 114: Standley Lake HS, FCC license appears correct.
464.9125, DCS 115: Wheat Ridge HS, FCC license appears correct.
461.9125, DCS 116: Warren Tech, FCC license appears correct.

464.0250, DCS 365: While the FCC license indicates a repeater on Lookout Mountain, it seems to be used at Bear Creek HS, instead. I have heard Bear Creek HS traffic on this freq indicating they have a second channel. It might be the 461.5625 freq that is licensed for them, but I haven't confirmed that.

464.4625, CTCSS 127.3: While the FCC license is for this one to be used at Arvada HS, it sounds like Dunstan Middle School instead. I'm pretty sure this freq is not used at Arvada HS at this time. Arvada HS has been licensed for simplex use on 466.6875 for a long time, but I have yet to confirm actual usage on that one.

461.9250, CTCSS 131.8: Jeffco's old school security channel. Now it's mostly used by maintenance people. Some schools may use this freq simplex with various CTCSS/DCS.

I can't hear the mountain schools from my location, so I may not be able to verify those. Meiklejohn Elementary is licensed to 461.3875 and Hutchinson Elementary is licensed to 463.9875, but I'm not very interested in verifying those...

I have heard that before and I don't know why it says that. It could be that there are 200+ to work system-wide, but I can guarantee that there isn't anywhere close to that many outstanding submissions for Colorado. As of tonight, I have your two and one other to work in and that's it (and one of your two is done).

Just don't want anyone to think i'm some sort of a slacker

I haven't heard those used yet, but I don't listen to them all that often. The school bus TG's are really busy during the morning and afternoon commute times, so it's hard to miss those...

I'll give those two a try and see if I can come up with anything on those. I have no idea if they would be UHF or VHF. I just thought they might be in the mix somewhere, but I didn't see a specific entry for them.

Just a quick update...

The old Jeffco Schools south area bus repeater frequency 854.1375 looks like it's now part of the DTRS on Riley Peak. Attached is the Pro96Com file for Riley Peak.

The other two conventional bus channels look like they're supposed to become part of the DTRS before long. There's some pending modifications to WPMI204 where it looks like 854.8125 is going to Squaw and 855.4375 is going to Lookout. I'm not hearing anything on either of these two at this time.

I did hear a brief conversation on TG 10010 the other day. It sounded like maintenance people, but I can't say for sure that they were with Jeffco Schools.

It looks like a repeater for Alameda High School was added to one of the licenses a few months ago. It's in use now, on 461.4125 with a 69.3 tone.

Also, I've noticed Lakewood High School has a repeater on 463.4375 with a DCS code of 072.
