• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

JEFFERSON COUNTY - Lightning Friday evening sparked a wildfire in White Ranch Park that flared up Saturday, according to officials.

Dry weather caused the fire to grow to at least 50 acres as of 8 p.m. Saturday.

The fire is said to be in a rugged area that is difficult to get to. Volunteer firefighters from at least four different fire departments are on scene working on the fire. Air support has also been called in to assist with the fire.

No structures are threatened but smoke from the fire is visible from the metro area.

Hearing Jeffco FIRE N.W. 1481 with operations as well.

(Listening to it on the S. Greeley site as a matter of fact)

Very busy day on the radios.

Pulling air resouces off the fire and rehabing the crews but requesting two hot shot teams, if available for a first light attack in the morning. Jeffco IMT also activated and comm van now onscene.
