Jefferson County Freqs

I see in the database that there is a single frequency listed for county-wide sheriff's dispatch in Jefferson County. There are also police departments for each of the independent citys of Charles Town, Harpers Ferry, Ranson, & Shepherdstown, but I don't see any freqs listed for them.

Does anyone know if the PDs for the independent cities share the sheriff's dispatch freq? Seems to me there has to be more than a single channel for law enforcement in the entire county.

I've also been monitoring the 4 listed fire/rescue freqs from Loudoun County. All I've heard so far is a bit of traffic on 153.815, but I'm not hearing any alerting for fire/rescue. Does anyone have any more details for the fire/rescue freqs for Jefferson?

You should be able to hear fire/ems dispatches on 153.86.

The only times I've heard comms on Ch4 is during medevacs from Summit Point Raceway.

I don't heard usually hear anything from Jefferson until I'm in far western Loudoun County or closer.

Go to the bottom of Jefferson Co. page and see listings for (all FCC lic. for Jefferson Co.) theres other towns listed.
For Loudoun Co. you have to see TRS systems and it lists Motorola type11 smartzone APCO-25 as there system. I live in Martinsburg and can receive them here. That system is digital. Hope this helps you.

I heard 155.04 come up a couple of times in Harpers Ferry on friday, but there was very little traffic and I didn't manage to snag a PL tone.

I was intrigued that 154.875 showed up with a PL of 67.0 on my PRO-96, when in reality it had a DPL of 662. My radio would decode the 662 DPL, but not the 67.0 CTCSS.

154.875 is the police primary channel. All police agencies in the county share the same channel. As scary as it may sound we only have two channels for the police. Channel 1 (154.875) and channel 4 (153.815). Don't ask what happened to 2 and 3.

Fire/Rescue dispatch is on 153.86. 153.89, 153.83, and 153.815 are for fireground ops. 153.815 is also used for police to talk to fire and vice versa.

155.385 is Jefferson memorial hospital. 155.34 is MEDCOM.

154.280 is the mutual aid channel used to talk with the surrounding counties by the dispatch center (HQ).

There are a few other frequencies that are available, but are not really used. If you have any questions regarding Jefferson County please ask me. I used to be a 911 dispatcher and am currently a FF/EMT active in the county. I can fill you in on just about anything you need.

They don't have their own. They use the 154.875. All the PD agencies (Shepherdstown, Harpers Ferry, Ranson, Charlestown, Shepherd University, Sheriffs Office, State Police) use the same channel.

I found a new freq this weekend while at Summit Point.
166.55 was being used by whatever feds were up there training.

Does Harpers Ferry use 154.04 or .40?

Just my .02 cents worth, but Harpers Ferry is a Federal Park and the Rangers use the Federal Freq's. I wasn't aware they had their own city department with an officer or two on the payroll.

I often hear the Rangers on 168.3000 and 168.425....
