I'm just at that point myself. Did you figure it out?

I am having the same problem using the Win500 software for the Jefferson System. The problem, is that an error message says that the trunking table is wrong when it downloads from RR. The one that the software shows is not the one listed in the Database. I know that it has to be a "custom table" for this system. My problem is that I cannot figure out how to change the bandplan in the sofware. I have done searches in the Forums for this problem and so far haven't been able to find a solution. I don't know if this is the same sort of problem you are having with the Arc500 program. It downloads correctly in Win96 for the Pro-96. Is driving me up the wall right now. I am using the latest revision available. If anyone finds a solution, please post. A same/similar solution may work for both downloads. (I hope)

A quick response-- I understand Radio Shack in Charles Town will program them but they told me not till the end of January as their scanner was stolen. I will be back with what I had done

Try this by hand and see if it works...if you have a 96 or 2096

Step by step for just your area(Jefferson) CO.) Find your start bank and channel. IE CH 900
1.Program in first Channel the Control Channel (CC) 453.41250c set mode too (MO)
2.Program in second channel the Alternate control Channel (AC) 460.08750a Mode (MO)
3.Press PROGRAM, TRUNK, FUNCTION.( number 2) your now your at TABLES settings with the black square blinking at (B) program in - (453.025) hit enter, thats (Base freq) NOW the (O) in offset is blinking type in( 8192) and hit enter (thats OFFSET) Now (S) is blinking, use up/down arrow keys on keypad, press up or down till you have (12.5) hit enter. NOW hit PROGRAM, TRUNK, FUNCTION, (number4) your now at (MODE) screen, theres three choices, NORMAL, TABLE, MULTI use up/down arrows till you have (TABLE) hit enter, then hit SCAN.

Oh great. The only working scanner in the county is in the hands of a criminal?

But I'm not so sure, as he is probably expecting to program his from here as well, so he may just find what we're finding - the db is wrong. Or corrupt. I dunno (no errors with the ARC500 software, but just silence all day). And by then my 30 day satisfaction warranty from Scanner Master will have expired.

Thanks for the step by step stripped. It clearly took you a while to type it. Alas, you lost this noob at the first line. "Find your start bank and channel ie ch 900" is total greek to me. Yes, this is the PSR-600 (pro-2096), but 'start bank' appears nowhere in the manual.

I'm not a complete cretin. I can follow instructions. But I never really intended to have to program anything by hand. I just wanted to listen to local calls. Maybe if you could start over from a common point like the func-prog menu (Load, Store, Erase)?

I apologize, in my haste I forgot to mention although I have the Pro-96, the problem is specifically with the programming on the new -Pro-106- with Win500. (I left out the most important part.) and am trying to get it right with the Pro-106. The system loads up correctly in Win96 for the Pro-96. Thanks for the previous replies and assistance.

FWIW, I'm having no trouble monitoring PNGI - the other download for JeffCo. Or the preset Loudoun Co traffic. So the scanner must be okay(?).

I programmed the WVIRP system into my Pro-106 with Win500 without any problems. Then again I don't download from the database. Even so it's a P25 system and you shouldn't have to enter any bandplan info. I didn't and it works fine.

However it does seem that something may be screwed up with the Jefferson tower. I'm not receiving it as well as usual on any of my scanners.

I just gave JD (Charles Town RS) a bunch of V folders (or whatever we call them now) for their Pro-106.

Just go back out to the store and ask them to clone their scanner to yours.

That will set you up with files for Wva, Va, and Md. as well as some others.

Don't forget to buy something while you're there!

(Maybe the extended antenna, a few packs of batteries, or an external speaker)

JD is a pretty nice guy...let's help him stay in business.

I spent some more time with the scanner yesterday and programmed in JeffCo manually. The scanner's working fine, so there's some sort of problem with the db or the Arc500 software or my knowledge of both. But now that I'm learning how to program manually I don't know if I'll ever figure out what the problem was.

I didn't have to program in any offsets on the PSR-600. Am I missing something? It seems to be getting everything. Maybe this is what freqhopping refers to as 'bandplan' info?

I don't know how the RS and GRE work but I know everyone place in the database the system being C4FM but under unitrunker it reports it as CQPSK.
Also I do notice that the info on this thread was only on table 2 but I have seen in the past that table 3 was also entered. Could it be possible that table 3 needs placed in so the scanner is not confuesed with some defalt overlapping.

Programmed my 2096 from RR with Win96. Worked fine..then touched it up with help of another listener in the area. Does anyone have more info than I am posting below with regrads to agency/unit numbers in Jefferson County?

Okay, I think I found the specific problem with the download from RR. It comes in as TSYS>System Type>Mot vhf/uhf instead of the P25-Auto it should be (?). Simply changing this one item causes it to work fine.
