I have seen some type of what look's to be a department issued phone? Ive heard about some type of Motorola system, is this a alternate way of communication? if so between who and can we hear it

I'm sure it's SouthernLinc.... Seems to be pretty common in Alabama agencies to use them as secondary / talkgroup devices.

The devices themselves are either Sonim XP5s' or Sonim XP8's if it is indeed SouthernLinc.

Birmingham pd is using tango tango push to talk app. that's what they gave the media to hear dispatch on its motorola wave. i am not sure if its a sonim phone since its a app. they might have the app installed on city phones ie admin, detectives . its not southern linc anymore but its the same thing branded under a new name .
