Do any of you live and monitor in the La Cueva area? I have a couple questions for you.

Thanks,

No, But I live in Rio Rancho and monitor the Sandoval County system a lot. It's pretty simple, actually, since all it is is a "poor man's voteing system". They Have several repeaters all around the county for both the Sheriff's and the Fire departments. All have different PL access, so depending on what repeater you need to access, they have different PL's on different channels, but it's still all the same input and output frequencies. For the Sheriffs you need to listen to 155.31 (also the NCIC channel of 151.235) and for Fire/EMS listen to 155.145. There is a fire repeater in La Cueva, so you should not have any issues picking that up. Now they will often go to the state fire simplex frequency of 154.31 when they go on scene, so unless you are close, you will be SOL.

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

Do you know the status of the Pajarito repeater that is supposed to be installed?

Do you know where Ghost Mesa is?

I was reading on the La Cueva VFD website that they were putting a repeater there also. I can't find it on topo map search engines.

Thanks for any info.

There is already a repeater site up at Pajarito in use now by all agencies, but they are putting a new, taller tower up there, and when that is complete, will move all repeaters and antennae over to the new tower. I was told where ghost mesa is, and if I remember correctly, it's about halfway between Placatas and cochiti lake.

Hi,

Here is another question.... my buddy and I were hanging out on Cerro Pelado (a lookout mountain for the Santa Fé National Forest just South of the Valles Calderas), I must say the best scanner reception around, and I noticed Sandoval County Fire was simulcasting on 155.145 and 153.74.

Any details on the specific use of frequencies?

That probably answers the question as to what the input for the 155.145 repeaters are. See RR DB page on Sandavol County and license KNJB813. But since I am not in NM anymore, I hesitate to change anything without some local backup.

That was my guess as well, Lou. Makes sense. I've never worried what the input freq's were....so I never bothered to track them down... :)
