On the Ocean County - Attractions Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference page, neither 151.875 Jenkinson's Lifeguards nor 154.615 Jenkinson's Bar Ch 1 are valid bandplan channels. The former appears only on one license in ULS (in Ohio; probably by mistake) and the latter is not licensed anywhere. Can someone confirm the correct frequencies for these two channels? (I already reported the name typo)

I posted a respone to your query regarding Jenkinson's Lifeguard and Bar frequencies in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. I should've replied directly to your quote, but I'm a bit rusty on using these forums.

I saw it, thanks. I was waiting for a DB admin to come along and comment. :)

The suggested frequencies could be correct if the original reporter of these entries was maybe using a radio/scanner/SDR that was mis-calibrated or, in a scan, stopped off-channel instead of the center freq and was then reported as-is. There are other explanations, like typos by the reporter, images, intermod mixes, other types of spurious transmissions, etc..

Current policy is for the database to reflect actual over-the-air reception so, because these look suspicious, I'm asking that someone local give them a listen to try to determine if they are somehow "correct" (though unlawful) as is, or, more likely, what the correct freqs are. It's not clear from that thread if it would be considered a reliable report, and neither the reporter nor the admin have been here in many years.

(and now I forgot to ping @cx4storm :) )

Ok. Thanks for replying.

I live about 6 miles form this location. I programmed the frequencies into a Kenwood TK-7180, and they're in the scan list. I have a high gain Diamond X500 about 40 feet up, and I am using some Andrew hard line to feed it, so we'll see what I hear. I can also drive down there and monitor if needed.

I'll report what I hear. Unfortunately, the end of their busy season upon us, so it may take some time to confirm it.

In addition to the MURS/Business links I posted, I added the link to that thread because it would add some context to the situation, and other people viewing this thread might find them informative.

It made sense that to me that they would be using MURS and Business Band frequencies for low-power simplex HT ops, so i figured I'd post it.

Thanks again

-Kevin
