Alex is correct. The JC system is going to be a full 7.x system with an IP infrastructure (imagine your home computer network with every part having a separate MAC address and they get their own IP from your router, and you have a basic idea on how JC will be set up).

Heard ID 4 being used on the JCPD trunked system one night last week, but it was ENCYPTED. Haven't heard any other activity after that.

The in-house guys from /\/\ setting up the system are all using XTS2500's with AES boards in them - no need to get upset just yet! ;)

Like I mentioned in a previous post, the rank-and-file officer on the job will be carrying an XTS1500 1.5 (not capable of doing hardware encryption).

Not until they finish the new dispatch center I'm sure - even then, I'd prob. guess that Summer 09 is probably a bit more realistic.

jersey city trunking system radio checks

It appears that the FDJC is conducting radio checks of various buildings with the new digital trunking system as of 2-26-09.

I observed two talk groups pop up on system this morning.

This was heard on a PRO96.

Group 00001 radio checks lobby command and various floors.

I believe they were at 100 warren st which is a 21 story high rise sitting on the morris canal by the Hudson river.

I don't think you need a trunking table for a pure APCO P25 trunked system.

It depends upon your scanner. Many P25 systems emit the tables over the control channel and many scanners are able to receive and utilize it, but some (including the Pro-96/Pro-2096) can not.

Looking for Butel 996 file

12288 16383 450.000 12288 12.5

Does anyone have a JC file for ARC 996 yet?
Tried to associate the above info with input screen in Butel 996, but some things just don't jive.
Any assistance would be appreciated!
Thanks

Mutual Aid and Bayonne

For Informational purposes, Bayonne's new P25 was planned to go into the Mutual Aid Zone, as It does make sense and Jersey City realized that. There have been official requests for talkgroup sharing with Bayonne for PD and FD and Bayonne has agreed to create such interoperability.
The issue is that it will probably be something that will be added in after initial roll-out due to installs being done already and all the final access and ID's have not been worked out as of yet.
