The Jefferson County Personnel Board has opened up the application process for Public Saftey Dispatchers I and II.

Just to let you know, PSD I's are what we call our 911 operators or complaint clerks. They are NOT on the radio. This is probably how it is in most agencies that use PSD I's.

PSD II's are the dispatchers. PSD II's are also the classification of all fire department communications employees because they rotate phone/radio duties. (With the exception of PSD III"s which are line level supervisors..... which BPD does NOT have)

Here are the details:
PSD I - http://www.jobsquest.org/details.aspx?pa=768

PSD II - http://www.jobsquest.org/details.aspx?pa=769

If you are interested..... be patient... its a long process..... and good luck.

Ah.... A little too soon for me.

God willing.... When I retire from my sales job (which I enjoy) in approx 10-yrs I want to work in a 911-center.

I can't just hang around or go fishing every day.... Working as a dispatcher is my dream-fun job for my retirement. And I'll be making a little extra money.....

I'm counting on the adrenaline to keep my arteries cleaned out!! LOL!!
