This position is a Pay Band IE
This position will provide guidance and logistical support to subscribers, subscriber agencies and potential subscriber agencies of services and will work with them and DolT leadership to facilitate smooth deployment and delivery of services. The position will assist in developing operational cut-over and migration plans for agency subscribers and devices. This position will generate training programs and deliver/ provide end user and agency level training for subscriber hardware (radios) and services. For example, operator training on use and configuration of radio devices. This position will develop and communicate interoperability communications plans and procedures and instruct subscribers on use and operation of such plans. This position will also assist in determining appropriate hardware and feature configurations for radios on a per agency basis and will construct and deploy radio configurations (codeplugs) to network, system and subscriber devices. The position will maintain software in network and subscriber devices and deploy updates and patches to devices as appropriate to maintain performance and security requirements. This position will collect and review statistical and analytical data regarding the state's Public Safety Radio Communications Services. Collected data will be used to compile and tabulate reports for use by subscriber agencies and DolT leadership to identify trends, technical performance levels such as traffic, bandwidth and loading statistics, and adjust system performance and parameters as required.
- Develop, construct, deploy and maintain device configurations, software and software updates, such as radio codeplugs.
- Regularly interface with existing customers to continuously evaluate their feedback and needs; ensuring a strong partnership with clear, consistent communication, to include generation and
delivery of technical and operational training programs.
- Collection of statistical, performance and analytical data from the state's Public Safety Radio Communications System and generation of reports for management to evaluate technical and
operational performance of systems and hardware.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience creating codeplugs for Motorola and Viking radio products utilizing Motorola CPS and Viking Armada software suites
- Knowledge of general public safety communications principles, operation and protocols
- Good organizational skills
• Education and years of experience must be related to the purpose of the position.

How does it get done?

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in network administration. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.Substitution Table

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License; obtain Defensive Driving Certification within 30 days of employment. Pre-employment background investigation is required, and employment is conditional pending results.Working Conditions
Ability to be mobile and work between Santa Fe and Albuquerque office agencies. Office setting in both Santa Fe and Albuquerque offices, Work occurs mostly in the office setting with occasional field work required to visit customer locations, radio site locations and to perform training instruction.
