I believe 279.575 is used by Potomac TRACON for D.C. area flyovers.

I got to see the TBirds practicing over Bowie the other day. Quite a shock seeing them in formation doing some low-flying practice in close formation. I'll bet a lot of folks didn't even know who they were..;

As noted in the wiki, there have been years when scanners were not allowed on base. Their rule on this tends to be spotty, as it evidently changes from year to year. Caution advised

Lots of activity on the JNCR site related to this.

In addition to military police and the normal activity related to the Air Base on this system, found 2 talkgroups I never heard before.
25278 and 25279. Both definitely have to do with the public and the air show.

Sounds like they are directing the shuttle buses.

Still trying to determine exactly what they are, but are interfacing with those checking bags of those entering (not them though, as they have just learned those folks were released 2 hours ago - or around 3pm).

The talkgroups are coming through the Naval Academy site.

I was able to take my 396XLT on with no issues. Not that it should make any difference, I am active-duty. Came in on base, was inspected and went through ECP without a second glance. I did see a few folks walking around with FRS units did not notice anyone with scanners.
