I recently purchased a BCD369T and have it programmed with many of the local agencies here in Alabama that are using the MOT 800MHz systems. As the wife and I will be traveling to Jonesboro next month for vacation to visit her family I’ve also programmed several agencies that are along our route to include the city of Jonesboro so I can enjoy listening along the way and once we’re there.

Now according to the database here the city of Jonesboro is using the LTR system and it shows now TGID’s but I’ve also seen some other sites that contain frequencies for Jonesboro and they do contain TGID’s. However when I entered those TGID’s it shows to be an invalid TGID. As I am new to these NEW scanners and trunk-tracking, I’m looking for anyone with the correct information as to whether or not TGID's are used and I need to input the TGID’s.

Many thanks.

Well actually your site is the one I got the TGID's and they did show as invalid TGID's. From my understanding the ID should read something similar to this 1-23-456.

Well then according to the database on this site it shows as the following...

Jonesboro Public Safety, AR System
Jonesboro, AR

System Name: Jonesboro Public Safety, AR
Location: Jonesboro, AR
County: Craighead
System Type: LTR Standard
System Voice: Analog
Last Updated: 04-29-2005 07:41 Updated General System Info

The TGID’s listed in your post and on the site mentioned above do look like MOT TGID’s, but then again I’m new to trunk-tracking.

Me too...

Maybe the database here needs to be verified.

Jonesboro will soon be converting to AWIN and become part of the state's APCO 25 system. I am not the expert on 800 trunking myself, but I live about 50 miles from Jonesboro and I can confirm the vhf frequiences for the county-- I hear them here at my location. I travel to Jonesboro almost every weekend and listen to the PD on their analog 800. You can also go to www.scanjonesboro.com and check out the website for Northeast Ark. The usd files will be there, you can download them and transfer them to your 396T.

I think you will be ok if you program the 396t with these frequencies, I have a 396T also. I am not sure about the time frame for the switch to AWIN, Jbr is a part of a pilot program for interoperability.

Thanks for the heads up on the conversion to AWIN, I’ll be keeping a close watch on this so that when it happens I can reprogram my radio.

I have no reason to doubt the information you provided on the 800MHZ or the VHF systems and I actually have been on the site that you provided the link to.

It’ll be fun just the same, even if I have to do a little bit of searching myself.

Jonesboro LTR????

As someone who has actually had their hand inside the trunking system for
city of Jonesboro, it is analog 800 Motorola type II. Not LTR.

Other than the system not being LTR as shown in the database here, are the frequencies correct and any TGID’s that may not be listed from the other sources cited in the other post in this topic?

Glad to see the correction has been made in the database here.

Can anyone with a 396T or a Pro96/2096 confirm any of the AWIN tower numbers in Troop C for our database? Also, does anyone know the system ID for current Jonesboro Public Safety analog TRS?

Troop C Jonesboro CC

Hi, I traveled up I-55 this past weekend and found the AWIN Jonesboro Control Channel. I submitted the info, here is what I found. CC = Ch 05 860.98750.
I go that way about every 3 weeks or so and will try to update at least one control channel for troop C each trip.
Take care,
Randy

Will be heading up that way in about 10 days, staying for a week. Of course I’ll be taking my 396T and will see what I can find while I’m there.

Reporting In...

Well we had a good time on our vacation, good to get away but good to get back too and of course you have to get back to your normal routine after being gone for a week.

Took along my BCD396T, as stated in earlier post, and had it programmed with most all agencies that we’d be close to driving through vicinities. Let me tell you the scanner worked really well and I had it sitting in my cup holder next to me as I was driving. I heard traffic in just about every area from our home to our destination in Jonesboro AR, it really was busy in Memphis TN. Not much traffic from the Alabama state line to about Tupelo though, but enjoyed every minute of the monitoring along the way and once we were up there.

I think my brother-in-law may just soon be buying him a new scanner, he has a handheld Uniden (don’t remember the model number) but it’s not a TrunkTracker and he has to lock out the control channels and unlock them when they change on the Jonesboro site(s). When I told/showed him what mine would do he started asking more questions about what else it would do etc.
