These are what makes up the Salt Lake Simo, Site 003 Salt Lake County. Click on the pins in the map and it will show you the name of the transmitter site.

AHA!
Don't get to SLC that much, so now I have the geography.
It makes the singular term site inaccurate, the "site" is several integrated "siteS."
Thanks!

Yep! That also goes for Site 001 Weber County, Site 002 Davis County, Site 004 Utah County Simulcast, and others. In a trunked system, all simulcast sites have more that one transmitter site using the same frequencies in unison, but then I'm sure you already know that.

In concept yes, but did not ever click thru to see the xmtr sites on 1, 2 & 4, especially since 1 and 2 are not names "simo'
One last (for tonight) question: what does "IR" stand for?
thanks

I asked that question a while back, too, and the answer I got was:

"Well it stands for IntelliRepeater; but it is just a smartzone site. Technically it is just a repeater for smartnet systems that does not require a central controller. Most often when someone uses the term they are just talking about a non-simulcast smartzone site."

You can find it mentioned in the RR Wiki discussion on Motorola SmartZone.
