I’m wondering if participantsof this forum can check 87.9 FM And see if you are hearing a station that plays continuous rock music. My FM radio shows ID as JROX. Ive heard some spurs from this station in the aircraft band and in the 155 MHz part of the spectrum. I’m located in central Bergen County.

Station is located in Clifton, NJ. Program is English rock music without any commentary. 88.7 mhz
I saw comments in another forum that due to interference, the FCC was already notified.

This is almost certainly this legal station below. There are several of these, been that way for years, in the U.S. using 87.75 as sort of a TV/FM station using the audio frequency 87.75 of the NTSC TV channel.

I don’t think so. I’ve heard that one, and throughout its history it was always in some foreign language. Those call letters come back to Flushing,NY. They went silent and this one slipped in. I have nothing against pirate stations, but I’ve heard remnants of their signal sliding around the VHF band and within the AM aircraft band. First noticed when I was listening to Teterboro Airport’s tower. It wasn’t strong, and distorted as I would expect, but after a lot of listening I’ve been able to verify that it all originates from the 87.9 source.

Frankin 87.75 TV6 analog is alive and well. Fuzzy memory says WNYZ-LD got an STA or even a renewal w ATSC 3.0. Seem to recall TX from Long Island City or Queens. I hear it 24/7 in Jersey.

Korean Radio

So much so it prevents me from Es skip reception from FM DX in the Azores.

Correction to the above. Some sources indicate they still exists but only on the web and via other stations programing since 2021.
