Starting a bit differently this morning
29.66 K5DFW repeater into Minnesota for the past 30 minutes. No flutter at all. Usually I get the east coast stuff early but this is a straight North South path.

Strange stuff coming in down here, Fairfax, Virginia, FM18.

Radioshack Pro-96 with 108 inch whip antenna sitting on my front porch.

I've never seen 218.1 PL before, I know its a non-standard one. Isn't 49.600 in the military portion of that band?

45.4200 is used by jails in Florida I pick this one up too all the time its usualy Alachua county florida jail the funny part is i was in florida last summer and didnt even hear any activity on the frequency but when im close to 900 miles away its as clear as if im standing outside the jail walls lol

Interesting, do you know if they use a tone or if its all CSQ? The weather up here in VA is changing right now which might explain the strange stuff I'm hearing.

I think there might be some tropo going on as well, I'm picking up 2 (or maybe 3) different WX stations on 162.475 right now.
