Glad to hear you've gotten out of the beginner stage. The best way to show your gratitude is look for posts from other new scanners users and "elmer" them along. The folks here have always been a big help to me, and I try to give back when I (think) I know an answer.
This plus a thousand
My elmer helped get me started many years ago by inviting me to my first Tarheelscanner/shortwave Listeners group meeting here in Raleigh. Curt W4CP also provided support and encouraged me to get my Ham Ticket. I have been a true radio geek ever since and have tried to pay back all of the good experiences I have gotten from the hobby. I drove 3+ hours to Charlotte and back to Raleigh one evening to try to help get a radio group started in that area just because I knew it was one small way I could "pay it forward".
Ironically Curt W4CP is just now getting back into the hobby after having had to concentrate on work for a few years and his first scanner purchase in a long time is a HomePatrol!
The radio hobby can bring you into contact with some amazing people and help you start some friendships that will last a lifetime.
Thanks for being a part of what makes RR.com great!
Happy Monitoring
