For a project, I'm trying to build a pair of handheld devices, each with an LED and a button. With a range of 200 meters or so, I would like to be able to press the button on one of the devices, and turn on the light on the other. I'm thinking a good way of doing this would be using a crystal oscillator to produce CW or a 555-timer, but I imagine some amplification would be necessary too?
