just bought a Zenith J430W

In a yard sale, I found a decent looking (not great), but seemingly perfectly working J430W.
Wow - what sound! After Googling it, I find all sorts of information I don't trust.

Does anyone here know anything about these? Age? I'm assuming 60's, 70's. It's a real
wood case (not laminate particle).

Why don't you trust the data?

This site has always been excellent...

...but it's just a normal domestic BC and FM band receiver. Without a schematic diagram it's difficult to see if it has anything in it to make it a spectacular performer but it does have a RF amplifier stage..

Perhaps I should have clarified. The brief time I spent looking (before posting here) resulted in finding
references to the radio on eBay - hence, the lack of trust factor.

Thank you for the link! This isn't like the best-thing-since-sliced-bread kind of performer; I'm just
impressed with the sound quality.
