I've been looking for some old radios for the last couple years but never found one I was willing to pull the trigger on and risk it being shipped to Hawaii. A few months ago I got a Hallicrafters SX-71 and everything was fine so I kept looking for an SX-100.

I wanted one that was gone through, recapped and realigned. Well I found exactly what I was looking for a few weeks ago and it finally arrived today.
Funny how I was looking for year with no luck and then within two months two radios came up that were exactly what I was looking for.

I have it on my overcrowded radio desk in my small condo. I'm still waiting on my
R-46B to be delivered so I don't have anything set up permanently yet.

I was just getting used to it and of course stopped off at WWVH so I thought I would record it a little. So far so good.🤙🏻

What a beautiful radio! I have a few boat anchors that I bought before I retired last year - I really need to get back to them to make sure they are working. Love the warmth of the tubes and the great sound that you don't get on modern radios

Yes, you really don't realize all that until you spend a few hours operating them. They certainly are much more fun. I was worried about the added heat since we live in Hawaii but that hasn't been an issue since we have nice trade winds come through our condo.

I just did a video running my Hallicrafters SX-71 W/K180-WLA Antenna and the Hallicrafters SX-100 W/K-480WLA Antenna both on China Radio International on 9415 kHz during the show Roundtable. 🤙🏻
