Just got a Yaesu FT7800r

Picked up a brand new Yaesu FT-7800r for $100.00 for my Jeep. I'm amazed at how small this is and with the separation kit, how small the control head is. I mean tiny. Waiting on an antenna and I'll install this after Christmas. I have the programming cable, and G4HFQ Radio Programming Software software. Woo hoo!

Yeah, an excellent, simple radio..I had one and sold it to help fund the purchase of the
FT-897 but missed the 7800 so much I just purchased a 7900 as a "Christmas gift" to
myself. You can't go wrong with the 7800 \ 7900...

How are you planning on mounting it?
I recommend the system by ARIZONA ROCKY ROAD ANTENNA MOUNTS FOR JEEP WRANGLER, UNLIMITED AND LIBERTY.
I use both radio and antenna mounting options.
Great system for my 2005 Rubicon.

Antenna is going on a rear tail light mount (I have a Grand Cherokee). The radio is being mounted on the side in back, control head where the ash tray was under the dash.
