Just got an LCS 2000

Hey all,

I just got ahold of a nice Motorola LCS 2000 for nothing. It powers up, does all kinds of neat stuff, but I don't have the means to program it. I'd like to know 1) what kind of antenna it needs 2) what kind of programming is available 3) is this a good radio? Thanks!

It uses the same antenna as any other mobile, you didn't say what band it is, so use cut to the spectrum it will operate on.

This is a "general government" radio typicially used by local government departments. It's not a public safety radio and doesn't have an "alpha display". It's an OK radio, far from an MCS or Spectra.

As far as programming, it uses it's own RSS software. There is no CPS available for this model radio.

The radio came from a police department I used to work for. The department i am currently with has a couple in use also. It is 800mhz, and the rest, well, I need layman's terms please....
