just got pro 96 today what should i program in

im in monroe mi and just wondering how do i monitor monroe downriver rail fbi and what surrounding areas should i program in and expect to hear thanks im very new at this and i bought used and havent takin it to radio shack yet but they said if i bring in they will dump in from theres to mine to program. any help appriciated

There's no harm in programming too much - go ahead and do what you want, and if you are too far away you simply won't hear. Nothing bad can happen from putting in too much.

You'd be better downloading the software (Win96) and doing it yourself based on the frequencies you got here.
