I just heard something quite odd a few minutes ago. The Missouri department of Transportation on the Buchanan county digital trunk. They were doing a test which came in very well. I didn't get a talk group because my hands were rather busy at the time. It was simulcast with their 151.130 freq. THAT I could see from where I was sitting. Interesting idea and something worth investigating! I'll post more if they do it again.

Dont know if this is relevant or not, but I do know that MoDOT has one heck of a radio system on a mobile command post, with the ability to jump in and back up a lot of services if needed. Maybe they were working on stuff like that.

More today.....

More testing today around 1000hrs. Simulcast on 154.280..statewide fire. St.Joseph comm center responded to the test which went on for about 20 minutes. Technitians were on too, sounds like a permanent installation going on. Maybe at Troop H headquarters? In any event it's interesting.

Perhaps - and this is a guess - they are doing something related to the proposed MO Statewide Interoperability Project system. I know they will be presenting an update next month at the state EMA conference. It is speculated that they will be using some MDOT towers and such. Was the stuff you heard today P25 or analog?

I remember hearing really bad distoration on 154.280 sometime today or yesterday. Maybe that was due to the testing. I don't keep the TRS in Search mode when scanning. I'm wondering if the new state system will be Phase I or II P25???

Ah ok. Did you catch an id?? I was just thinking today that it's surprising that St. Joe/Buchanan County don't have PD or FD Mutual Aid patched into their radios.

Got em!

Just reviewed the bank data two Tg's 00801 and 00803 were the two in the test. 00801 was the tg for the test with MoDot. 00803 was the tg for today's test with fire mutual aid.

Ok I got Id 219 and I'm guessing it's part of the County or Animal Control. Didn't understand anything, but I've got the scanner searching for id's and see all new ones I can get.

More Talkgroup Ids

I searched more and at 1025 I heard Id 411 with someone saying, "1,2,3 hello. . . hello" it sounded like testing for Heartland Hospital or maybe EMS. I then heard 407 with someone saying something about a van, so I'm guessing it's van transport for the hospital, but not 100% sure. I then heard id 301 which was showing up as ENC so I'm not sure who it would be, but maybe Rosecrans?? Can anyone verify any of these Talk Groups?? No word on Mutual Aid or Modot from what I was hearing.

Tgs

I can help you with those tg's. 00301 is the Buchanan County Drug Strike Force, 00411 is Heartland Hospital Security, 00407 is indeed the Transport Vans for Heartland Hospital, 00219 is Courthouse Security. The 00801 and 00803 are respectivly...Event1 & 2 Interop . Have a good one!

Ok great thanks. I didn't know that the County had any encrypted channels, but it makes sense why the task force would be. What are all the id's that you have and know what they are??

Tg's

There are quite a few....00085-STJPD Disp.,00003-ch2 Info, 00005-ch3(Tac 1), 00011 ch7(Tac2), 00013 ch?(Tac3 encrypted) 00015-ch4 Event 1 .......Fire Department 00101 F1 Disp., 00103 F2 Fireground, 00105 F3 Med 1, 00107 F4 Med 2......... The data base is accurate on the others with a couple of exceptions. 00501 is County Fire Disp., 00224 is St.Joseph's City animal control, and will answer requests for service from the county sheriff. 00701 Is Missouri Western Security. The data base still insists that there are simulcast talk groups in use on the Motorola Type one city trunk but those aren't used anymore. Heartland Hospital uses Tg's 00401-00411 (odd no's only) With dispatch 00401. Enjoy!
