we will soon be decommissioning several UHF Micor community repeater(yes some folks still use them) due to narrowbanding. i hate to toss perfectly good equipment and was wondering if when we shut them down there would be any interest from the HAM community? is this something we could take to a hamfest and either sell or donate? all of them are currently in the 460-469 band, but should be easy to convert. they range from 40-100 w continuous duty, but honestly most have had the power set bypassed and just run full bore.

also will have some R100 and GR300 repeaters we will be getting rid of in the next couple years. i am sure there will be various radius m/GM series mobiles as well but until we actually get ready to clean out the back room i won't know what band or anything. even a couple of micor VHF transmitters, these were old paging TX and no longer have the tube power amps.

just to clarify, i AM NOT offering these for sale here. i am asking is it even worth attempting to sell/trade/give away or would it be best to just toss them in the dumpster when the time comes?

I am sure you will find interest among the ham community. At almost any hamfest, it is common to see "outdated" commercial equipment like this offered "For Sale". In most ham clubs, there are some "oldtimers" who love to convert and use such equipment.

Not to mention in some areas UHF might be less crowded, so it might be easier for someone to get a UHF repeater pair and get a new repeater on the air.

Absolutely, there would be interest. Especially with the Micors. You would have no trouble selling them at a hamfest.

Very true,as these make excellent repeaters. There is also a custom designed repeater controller available for these units from Integrated Control Systems called the "single M".
The single M will drop right into a micor with matching mounting holes and connectors.
