Hello,
I just moved to Beachwood a few months ago and am new to scanning trunked systems. I have two scanners, a Uniden Bearcat BC-175XL and a RadioShack PRO-24. The Bearcat can only take frequencies upto 512 MHz, but the PRO-24 can scan the 800 MHz and 900 MHz bands. I am wondering which frequencies I should program into my scanners. These scanners are both 16 channels.

A great place is right at the top center of this website. Click your mouse on RR data base and then on New Jersey. Select Ocean County and you'll get the whole shebang. Enjoy and welcome to the wonderful and often wacky Jersey Scanner Heads. You'll love it!!

Ocean County dispatches for Beachwood Police. They are on a TRS. You need a trunking scanner to listen to them. Beachwood fire is also on the county TRS. There is a lot to listen to that you don't need trunking for. Like elk2370bruce said the RR Database is full of information. Good Luck.

I usually listen to the Ocean County Trunked System, but whenever I see something going on I never hear anything about that event on it. I would keep the Ocean County Trunked System in my scanners if I did hear more about events happening.

Beachwood FD (Station 16) is not on the trunked system, they are still dispatched on 33.780 and still use the low band fireground frequency, they could move to the trunked system in the future.

50 is not on the trunked system. They use the Tuckerton tower repeater in conventional mode.

Thanks for you help. I programmed the Ocean County Trunked System both scanners which leaves me with one open channel. Should I lock it out or put 33.780 MHz in it?
