Just purchased a BC 250D

- I purchased a BC250D / with card today - I must admit the last scanner I bought was a Radio Shack 300 channel - like 10 years ago.

I CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO USE THIS THING. Conventional frequencies no problem, scanning no problem - But I have read the manual for three hours and I still cannot understand the trunked part I I must be slow or something

Is 'Motorola Type II Smartnet' the same as VHFII? I was trying to enter Camp Pendleton http://www.trunkedradio.net/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=630 and its silent. HELP?!?!?

Camp Pendleton MCB Programming

The Camp Pendleton MCB TRS is a Type 2 UHF system. Don't forget, you must also program in the base frequency, space frequency and offset channel (see the manual pg. 72).

Base: 406.0000
Spacing: 25.0
Offset: 380

I've programmed the CAMP PENDLETON UHF freqs into the 796d, and have set all the correct base, space, offset settings. Yet, the scanner will not trunk track the channels! I push the scan button, and it goes into conventional scan mode, stopping on the audible control channel.

The scanner is receiving all the channels with good signal strength.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

buy the arc250 software. makes it alot easier to program it.

You didn't program the freqs in as trunked freqs.

If nothing else, post your file here. One of us with ARC250 can probably fix the file and post it back for you. It will need to be zipped first, as the forums don't allow .mem attachments. If you don't know how to zip a file, just email it to me, and I can fix it.

Thanks, your right, I didn't have the channels set to TRUNK ON. Ughh...not enough sleep.
